The Solea guitar is named after one of the fundamental expressions (‘cantes’ or ‘palos’) of flamenco, the soleá. This great expression of lament, pain and heartache is translated into mesmerising tones by the specific blend of tone woods chosen for this flamenco ‘blanca’, denoting that it is made with light woods as opposed to dark. The top-grade German Spruce for the top and beautifully grained Spanish Cypress for the back and sides combine to provide the Solea with a magical biting voice and ‘broken’ wail that is enchanting. Its penetrating trebles and balanced bases have inspired some of the greatest guitar players to write aching beautiful tunes on guitars modelled like the Solea. She is addictive!
